About Alison

Alison Burstein is the Program Director at Recess (New York, NY). Previously, Alison worked as a member of the education departments at MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum. Across these institutions, Alison organized a wide array of public programs, performances, experimental classes, and artist projects. As an independent curator, Alison has staged the exhibitions "One Trace After" at NURTUREart (Brooklyn, NY, 2014) and "Presenting and Representing the “W-Cache" " for the 2016 ESTAR(SER) “Joint Symposium,” hosted by the Museum of Jurassic Technology (Los Angeles, CA). Her next show, "Agony, Again," will open at the Knockdown Center (Queens, NY) in January 2017. Her writing has been published on MoMA's Inside/Out blog, Culturebot.org, and plot.online. Alison is a Master’s student in Art History at Columbia University and earned her BA from Wesleyan University.
