About Emily

Emily Sevier brings a diverse professional perspective to her work in the cultural sector with experience in grantmaking, public art project management, technical assistance for artists and art organizations, and artmaking (as a trained artist). Emily has managed projects for the San Diego Regional Airport Authority, the California Community Foundation in Los Angeles, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, and the New Children's Museum, among other institutions. Emily launched statewide grant initiatives for the Center for Cultural Innovation as the Bay Area Program Director, and held positions at the James Irvine Foundation and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Emily is in charge of the design and implementation of the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs citywide initiative San Jose Creates & Connects, which seeks to connect residents through creative participatory arts experiences. Emily has a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from UC San Diego.
