Laura Elayne Miller is a contemporary artist, organizer, researcher, and educator. She creates installations, videos, and cross-disciplinary projects. Through research and critical writing Laura focuses on artist-run culture and radical organizing platforms, alternative modes of cultural production and education, and evolving contemporary art practices. In 2017 she will be launching two collaborative projects: ATLEX, a geo-cultural archive of interdisciplinary translations, and Meta-Manifesto, a virtual artist residency.
In collaboration with Common Field, Laura is curating research, developing resources, and creating an archive for the organization. Currently she is an Editorial Fellow with the Cultural Research Network & WolfBrown, where she is creating a collection of research about Artist-Run Spaces for CultureLab; an international resource for cultural policy makers and practitioners in the arts and culture sector. In Oakland Laura is a community arts organizer with Birdhouse Collective and on the board of directors at Aggregate Space Gallery.
