Nicole Lavelle is artist and a graphic designer who lives in California. Her research-driven, project-based social practice yields experimental essays, visual narratives, and platforms for participation. She is attracted to analog processes and vernacular media, and thinks the most compelling projects are community publications, inclusive spaces, found language, weekly routine, landscape studies, or accidental memoir. She is the co-organizer of PLACE TALKS, a lecture series about location at the Prelinger Library in San Francisco, where she is a long-term Artist in Residence. She is an Affiliate Artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts, and a freelance visual designer for Multi Studio, IDEO, and the design research team at Dropbox. She possesses a poetic worldview.
