Onya Hogan-Finlay is a Canadian artist based in Los Angeles. Focusing on drawing, installation and social practice, Onya’s work and collaborations with The Third Leg collective have been exhibited internationally at LACE, MOTHA, ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives, The Power Plant, Künstlerhaus Bethanien and Documenta 12 Halle. She is the co-founder of projet Mobilivre-Bookmobile project and is the co-editor of the 2014 publication The Bookmobile Book which chronicles the project's history. Her work has been published in C Magazine, Cruising the Archive: Queer Art and Culture in Los Angeles 1945-1980, LTTR, Randy Magazine, Féminismes Électriques - La Central 2010-2012, and e-misférica. As an arts educator Onya has developed her pedagogical practice through her tenure as Lecturer at the UCLA Visual and Performing Arts Education Program (VAPAE) and as former Director of the UCLA Summer Art Institute for High School Artists, Artist in Residence at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), ACTIVATE Fellow in Arts for LA’s Arts Advocacy Leadership program, and Assistant Director of School and Professional Development Programs at Armory Center for the Arts. She holds an MFA from University of Southern California and a BFA from Concordia University in Montréal.
