Rudy Lemcke is Bay Area Artist with a focus on new media and social practice. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Louvain, Belgium and a degree in Web Design and Technology from San Francisco State Multimedia Studies Program. His art work is currently touring nationally in the exhibition Art AIDS America curated by Jonathan D. Katz. He will be artist in residence at the De Young Museum in October, 2017. He has been a guest lecturer and speaker at the University of California at Berkeley and Santa Cruz, Mills College, San Francisco State University, The San Francisco Art Institute, The California College of Arts and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Rudy Lemcke is a founding member of the Queer Cultural Center (QCC), San Francisco (1998 – present); co-founder of Queer Conversations on Culture and the Arts, a collaboration between California College of the Arts and QCC (2009 – present); founder of Creative Labor: Queer Artists Working Group, and founder of Emerging Scholars Program (2014 – present).
